How paying for a made-to-order sofa works.

30% deposit today, balance before dispatch

You pay a 30% deposit when you order — that commissions the build. The remaining balance is only taken when your sofa is finished and ready to dispatch: with your authority given at checkout, it's charged to the same card, and we email you at least three days beforehand with the exact amount and date, so it's never a surprise.

The balance amount is fixed when you order and shown in your confirmation — it never changes, and we never charge during production. Prefer to pay another way? Reply to that email, or contact us any time before the charge date, and we'll send a secure payment link that also accepts UK bank transfer and delete the stored card. Opting out never delays your order.

If your bank declines the automatic charge, nothing further is attempted on your card — we send you a payment link instead. Nothing ships until the balance is settled, and no further payment is ever taken after it.

Your deposit is refundable in full any time before production begins. Once production starts it is non-refundable — see section 8 of our Terms.

Processed by Stripe — we never see your card

All payments are processed by Stripe, the payment provider used by millions of businesses worldwide. Your card details are entered on Stripe's secure, encrypted checkout and are never seen, transmitted through, or stored on our servers. Stripe is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest standard of payment security, and payments are protected by 3D Secure authentication where your bank requires it.

Your records

Every payment generates an emailed receipt with your order reference, itemised totals, and the deposit/balance split. Your delivery note on arrival is your proof of purchase and guarantee. Card statements show the charge as ASHVANE.
